The Claw Setting Set consists of the following:
• (1) Round steel base with a mounting column
• (3) Tapered jigs
• (4) Steel tubular sleeves
1. Select the tapered jig you wish to use (4, 6, or 8 prongs).
2. Install this jig into the mounting column of the base.
3. Install the appropriate tubular sleeve over the jig. It is this sleeve that will hold the
prongs in position to be soldered, so you need to be sure that the wire you will be using
will it between the jig and the sleeve.
4. Cut wire to equal lengths and in the quantity required. A tube cutting jig is useful for
this purpose. Be sure to de-bur the ends of these wires.
5. One-by-one, insert these wires between the sleeve and the jig. The wires are now
ready to be soldered together. Soldering will be easier if you pre-heat the Claw Setting
Jig.
